Dont use localhost or 127.0.0.1

Hi, The instructions say not to use localhost or 127.0.0.1 so how does it run on localhost? I tried running it from my web hosting site but that doesnt allow port 8008 to be used. How are people running this on localhost please? also I set this up on diva distro and the same problem occurs.

If you use Windows, please execute "command prompt" from 'Start'->'Accessories' Menu
And input "ipconfig" command

ex.)
C:\Users\...> ipconfig

So, IP address will be displayed.


How do you execute OpenSim before Money Server?
OpenSim needs 9000 port and any 800x port.
If you can not open 9000/800x port, OpenSim will not work, too.

yes I can run opensim ok, what I meant to say is when I moved (ftp) the money server to my remote web host because I cant use localhost, I thought I couldnt run it locally so I tried to run it from a remote web host server and use www.my_web_server.com:8008.
From what you say I should be using 192.168.1.68 locally is this right? I will try that while I wait for your reply.

I think your connection URL to Money Server is https://192.168.1.68:8008/ or http://192.168.1.68:8008/

I thought well.
If you use one Region Server (OpenSim.exe), you can localhost(127.0.0.1) address as Money Server's IP address.

Money Server identifies user by "user name@Money Server's IP"
So, when you use two or more Region Servers, if you use localhost(127.0.0.1) at one Region Server, Money Server recognizes the same user to be a different user.
